Whats your Concentration?

For this week’s Bolg assignment, please respond to this post and share with each other the focus of your Concentration. If you are still unsure,….well …..it’s time to figure it out.  Remember it is very important to come up with a meaningful concept. From now until May it is going to be the center of your universe!

  2. For my concentration this year i will focus on what makes a utilitarian bowl specific. For example if you wanted to have a bowl for french onion soup it would meet specific requirements for that use.

  5. My concentration focuses on the visually appealing side of bowls. Although each of my 12 bowls may not have a specific purpose, they will all be odd and different and will make the viewer keep looking. I am very excited about my bowls.

  13. In my concentration I will be exploring drinking vessels. I want to incorporate some pieces that show a relationship between a handle and a piece as well as some sets of pieces that exemplify the relationship between pieces themselves. My concentration will be made up primarily of mugs of different shapes and sizes, as well as a variety of goblet, tumblers, steins, and tumblers.

  14. This year for my concentration I am going to do an exploration of textures. Not all textures work with every piece and by the end I hope to be able to find a suitable texture for any piece. You can have a good piece but it is never a great piece until it has a texture that will establish and accent it well.
